Join Apex’s Annual Coats for Kids Drive

Fall has arrived in Lane County, bringing with it cool mornings, brisk evenings, and the need for warm coats. For many families, that also means tough choices. Warm jackets aren’t always affordable - and too many kids in our community head into winter without the protection they need.

That’s why every year, Apex Recycling & Disposal participates in the local Coats for Kids drive, the annual coat drive to keep children across Lane County warm. Together with local partners like Relief Nursery, the Kids First Center, and Head Start, we’re working to make sure no child has to face the cold without a coat.

How You Can Help

From September 15 through October 17, 2025, we’re collecting new and gently used coats for kids of all ages. Here’s how you can join in:

Drop-Off at Apex

Bring coats to our office at 2399 Hwy 99 N, Eugene, OR (just a quarter mile south of Beltline). We’ll gladly accept donations during regular business hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Curbside Pick-Up

Making a donation is as simple as setting out your cart. Just place coats in a plastic bag, label it “Coats for Kids,” and leave it by the curb on your regular pickup day. Your Apex driver will collect the bag when they empty your carts.

Coats Needed Most

While coats of all sizes are welcome, there is always a special need for infant and toddler sizes. If you can, please consider donating for the youngest members of our community.

Why We Do This Every Year

As a local, family-owned company, Apex is committed to more than recycling and garbage service — we’re committed to Eugene itself. Hosting Coats for Kids is one way we can stand together as a community and look after our neighbors. Every jacket collected makes a difference for a child right here at home.

Thank You, Eugene

With your help, Coats for Kids continues to grow year after year. Every donation, big or small, helps ensure Lane County kids step into winter warm, safe, and cared for.

Join us this fall — donate a coat and help us keep Eugene’s children warm.
